Your MVP Design Exercise

Step 1 – Choose One Assumption

Pick the riskiest assumption about:

  • The problem

  • The customer

  • The solution

  • Pricing or willingness to pay

Step 2 – Design the Simplest Test

Ask:

  • Can this be tested with a conversation?

  • A prototype or mockup?

  • A manual service?

  • A landing page or form?

Step 3 – Define the Signal

Write down:

  • What success looks like

  • What failure looks like

  • What result would force you to change direction

Step 4 – Capture It

In your notes or worksheet:

  1. Assumption

  2. MVP experiment

  3. Expected signal

  4. Decision you’ll make based on the result

To test our assumptions without high cost or risk, we embedded a new event format within an existing event rather than producing a standalone one

We invited friends, tested the concept in a low-risk setting, and collected feedback before investing in a standalone venue or larger execution

This allowed us to validate interest, timing, and format without committing to a full venue, production costs, or operational overhead
