Your website is more than brochure

It’s your home base, it can hold everything you need to sustain a strong brand

Even with your social media, youtube channel, marketplaces and search engines, your community expects to find a website that is clear, with some basic units

With almost any website platform you can:

  • Control the message

  • Set expectations

  • Be found

  • Showcase your visual identity

A simple, clear website often performs better than a complex one

A good content strategy can outperform expensive advertising campaigns

What a Website Actually Needs

At a minimum, your website should help someone:

  1. Understand what you do

  2. Trust you

  3. Take a next step

That’s it

Everything else is optional

You can accomplish this with some basic building units:

  1. About Page
  2. Blog posts
  3. Optional product catalogue
  4. Newsletter signup or contact page

Scenario: imagine emailing someone out of the blue, you offer a very compelling proposal at a great price. The potential customer feels excited about the possibility, but considers that it might be too good to be true ande decides to search about you

In a potential outcome, they find no results, and decide to ignore the email. In another one, they see a clear website with your biography, feel an additional sense of relief, and schedules a follow up call

Common Mistake: Overbuilding

Thinking too much about what you're doing, and going over multiple rounds of revisions can significantly delay your launch date

Some things that you can postpone:

  • Custom design

  • Many pages

  • Advanced features

Your Website Grows With You

Your website doesn’t need to answer every question on day one

It should:

  • Be honest about where you are

  • Make it easy to get in touch

  • Support your next step, not your final vision

New experiences with customers and developing new products should invite you to log in to your dashboard and include them in the website
